How it Works
One
After annual harvest, we salvage vineyard cane, which is usually burned. Cane is cleaned of tendrils and cut to measure.
Two
Natural preservative treatments enhance its durability and organic beauty.
Three
The cane is woven onto wrought iron frames to create panels. Wire secures the cane to prevent settling.
Four
Panels are linked and installed to create a modern, woven, and sustainable fence.
Maintenance
Maintenance
While the vineyard cane inserts can last up to 10-15 years from time to time they will need to be replaced. The Modern Fence contemplates this and allows for a simple, component based replenishment process.
One
Replacement inserts are shipped woven onto recyclable PVC pipes.
Two
Remove old vineyard cane by removing the top rail of the existing frame. Old cane can be mulched, composted, or disposed of in any municipal yard waste program.
Three
With the top rail removed, the pipes allow the insert mat to slide easily into the frame.
Four
The pipes are then removed from the insert mat.
Five
The top rail of the frame is replaced and secured to the panel.
Six
The now-restored panel will continue to provide years of practical and ornamental value.
